IL-8 (CXCL8) is a pro-inflammatory CXC chemokine that signals through the G protein-coupled receptors CXCR1 and CXCR2. Within tumors, it can be secreted by cancer cells, stromal cells (including cancer-associated fibroblasts), and myeloid cells, and is broadly implicated in angiogenesis, tumor growth, metastasis, and resistance to therapy.
