Glioblastoma stem cells (GSCs) are a self-renewing, multipotent subpopulation within glioblastoma — the most aggressive primary brain tumor — responsible for driving tumor initiation, growth, and recurrence. GSCs are notably resistant to standard chemoradiotherapy (irradiation and temozolomide), a property linked to their enhanced stress-adaptive capacities, making them a central target for improving glioblastoma treatment outcomes.
