CEMIP (cell-migration-inducing protein, also known as KIAA1199) is a protein that promotes protective autophagy and anoikis resistance, notably in prostate cancer.
Mechanistically, it acts through an ATF4 → PKCα → Bcl-2(Ser70) phosphorylation pathway that dissociates the Bcl-2/Beclin1 complex; CEMIP knockout reduces MMP2, VEGF, PDK4, and LDHA expression and reverses anoikis resistance.
