signaling-pathways

Mic60 (also known as IMMT) is an inner mitochondrial membrane scaffold protein and a core component of the MICOS (Mitochondrial Contact site and Cristae Organizing System) complex, which maintains the characteristic folded cristae architecture of the inner mitochondrial membrane and supports proper assembly of respiratory chain complexes. Reduced or heterogeneous Mic60 levels, reported in a range of human tumors, produce structurally defective mitochondria.
